In 2002 in London, I met the man I’ve partnered with for last 20 years. We’re both too old and set in our lives to move to each other’s country so he spends part of every year in Berkeley and I go to London for 2-3 months a year. When I’m there, I’ve been forced to shrink down my art practice from a 2100 square foot studio to a 9x9 foot room I share with a bunk bed. I began to work in 2D, something I haven’t done since high school. I eventually settled on collage as the most congenial way of working. The collages seen here are part of the work I’ve done while abroad.
